Accreditation

City College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees. On December 12, 2016 the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education withdrew the recognition of ACICS as an accrediting agency. City College has a provisional participation agreement with USDOE, and the Secretary deems the College to hold recognized accreditation while the PPPA is in effect, not to exceed 18 months from December 12, 2016.

Duties of A Surgical Technician

There are some very important duties given to the Surgical Technician. They are responsible for setting up the operating room to get it ready for surgery by putting out ans sterilizing all surgery equipment needed. They will prepare the patient for surgery. Surgeons need their help as the Surgical Tech passes the instruments to them during surgery.

Surgical Technician Salary Outlook

Wages for Surgical Technicians will vary from state to state, and from large cities to smaller cities. Surgical Technicians in Florida earn an average annual salary of approximately $38,720. There is a great need for many medical people and the Surgical Technician is no exception.Many of the baby boomers are getting near retirement age and medical problems will escalate in the next few years. There is a big shortage of medical people so the jobs are there for the taking. If you are interested in becoming a Medical Technician, the opportunity is there for you.
