Working Conditions

A surgical technician is responsible for assembling surgical equipment and for assisting surgeons and staff with equipment and surgical procedures in an operating room. Working conditions consist of working along side surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists in a surgical center or hospital. Surgical Technologists also perform surgical procedures. This is a hands on position that requires surgical and medical knowledge.

Federal grants and both subsidized and unsubsidized loans are available for all qualified applicants. Qualifications include residency and a high school diploma or equivalent. Financial need must also be demonstrated. Unpaid federal loans and drug offense convictions are disqualifications for federal financial aid.
