Surgery is an organized process that requires the skills of many people. The day of the surgery surgical techs spring into action. They must organize the equipment and tools in the operating room. There are certain things that have to be in order.

The surgical technician starts with a list that must be followed exactly. Surgery rules and procedures are very detailed and must be followed completely. All equipment must be in working order. It is the responsibility of the tech to ensure this. Every instrument that will be used must be sterilized and laid out. The table beside the surgeon contains the instruments needed during surgery. This is the work of the scrub.
